📜 THE LAW

Utah's HB 437 took effect January 1, 2026, and it does NOT play. Courts can now declare "extreme" DUI offenders — that's a BAC of 0.16% or higher, or 0.05% with drugs in your system — an "interdicted person." Your regular license? Surrendered. 🏪 EVERYBODY GETTING CARDED NOW

To enforce it, Utah went full "papers, please": bars, taverns, and liquor stores must now check the ID of EVERY single person buying alcohol — no exceptions, no "you look 60" passes. Restaurants have to card anyone who looks 35 or younger. Bartenders are legally required to visually inspect every ID for the red stripe.

Picture this: you walk up to the bar, order a drink, hand over your ID feeling cute... and the bartender just starts SMILING.
