Chicago is holding its breath. Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was carted off in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 9-3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings at a rainy Soldier Field.
With 1st-and-goal from the Vikings 6 and under eight minutes to play, Williams scrambled left on a non-contact play, stumbled and fell to his knees. He hobbled off with his arms around members of the medical staff, then was carted from the sideline to the locker room β towel over his head, pumping his fist at the crowd on the way out. The Bears announced it as a hamstring injury.
Williams finished 15-of-26 for 138 yards and an interception, adding 42 rushing yards. Backup Tyson Bagent went 5-of-9 for 54 yards and drove Chicago to the Vikings 12, but Dallas Turner sacked him on the final play to seal it.
For Minnesota, Carson Wentz won his 100th career start, going 11-of-20 for 143 yards as the Vikings moved to 2-0. Aaron Jones Sr. rumbled for 105 rushing yards, Justin Jefferson had 3 catches for 55 yards, and Will Reichard drilled field goals from 35, 49 and 39 yards.
The whiplash is unreal: the Bears hung 59 points on Carolina in the Week 1 opener β then managed just 3 this week. Chicago hosts the Eagles on Monday Night Football in Week 3.
π§ SNUBBZ TAKE: From 59 points in Week 1 to 3 points and their QB carted off β Ben Johnson's Bears have a PROBLEM. π₯
