Sally Field — Dolly's Steel Magnolias co-star — introduced the tribute. "If there are truly angels on earth, then we just lost one: Dolly Parton," she said, calling her "a real giant, not just as an artist, but as a human."
🎶 "Appalachian Memories"
Then Reba McEntire took the stage in a sparkling white gown and sang Parton's 1983 ballad "Appalachian Memories." A clip from the 1983 Emmys showed Dolly herself introducing the song. When it ended, Reba looked into the camera: "I love you, Dolly. So much."
