A month after Hayden Panettiere's death, the investigation into how the Heroes and Nashville star died now reportedly spans both Los Angeles and South Carolina.

🔍 The Investigation Widens

Panettiere died Aug. 16 at an apartment complex in Greenville, South Carolina. A 911 call obtained by Reuters, TMZ and other outlets revealed the Scream franchise actress was in cardiac arrest after a possible overdose. Days after her death, the Drug Enforcement Administration joined the investigation.

📋 What We Know So Far

Investigators in both states are now focused on identifying what drugs may have contributed to her death and where those drugs came from, according to ABC News citing unnamed sources. Her official cause of death is still pending; the Greenville County Coroner's Office previously said autopsy and toxicology reports could take up to three months.

Her on-and-off boyfriend Brian Hickerson and his brother Zachary were on the scene and called 911. Weeks later, the pair were involved in an altercation at a South Carolina restaurant on Sept. 12: Zachary Hickerson was taken into custody for being highly intoxicated and yelling profanities in public, while Brian Hickerson was detained and released without charges.
