Kirk Franklin released his new single "This Time" featuring GloRilla today, and it's exactly what it sounds like: Franklin and a full choir over Mandrill's 1972 "Children of the Sun" — the SAME sample as the late Shawty Lo's "Dey Know." Uplifting gospel with real hip-hop roots. 😭

The track previewed earlier this week on Joe & Jada and debuted in full on The Breakfast Club during DJ Envy's People's Choice Mix.

And Glo? She EATS. "Cause I could be in the dirt right now, instead I'm on the beach / Chillin' in my B&B (What that mean?), I'm in my bag and 'bout it / Blessed and highly favored / Well, I might just've named my album." SHE JUST TEASED THE ALBUM TITLE IN A VERSE. The biggest prayer warrior really said that. 🙏

This is their second link-up. Their first, "Rain Down On Me" with Maverick City Music, won the Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award at the 2025 BET Awards — Glo's first BET win ever after six straight years nominated. Now she ran it back with Kirk himself.

"This Time" lands ahead of Kirk's first-ever double album "I Am What I Am" — 14 tracks, 7 contemporary and 7 traditional gospel — arriving October 30.
