Insomniac Games announced Marvel's Wolverine all the way back in September 2021. It survived a 2023 ransomware attack that leaked development assets, went quiet for years, and now it's arriving about two months before GTA 6 takes over November.

🩸 BRUTAL BY DESIGN

Insomniac themselves warned this one is "much darker and more brutal" than anything the studio has ever made — and this is the studio that made Spider-Man.

Logan is on the hunt for answers about a past he can't remember, unleashing brutal claw combat, violent rage, and relentless determination — with his regenerative healing factor keeping him in the fight. This is the first solo Wolverine game since 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Seventeen years of waiting.

🌍 WHERE LOGAN'S HEADING

The hunt takes Wolverine through Japan, Madripoor, and North America. Comic heavy-hitters Omega Red and Mystique are in the mix, with industrialist Bolivar Trask and the Reavers pulling strings behind the abduction of displaced mutants. Australian actor Liam McIntyre voices Logan — and the whole thing shares continuity with Insomniac's Spider-Man universe.

In an era of day-one downloads, Insomniac confirmed Marvel's Wolverine is playable straight from the disc. They still encourage grabbing the day-one patch for bug fixes and polish — but your physical copy works out of the box.
