🎮 Pokemon Devs Announce New Anime Game Where Real Weather Changes Your Gameplay

Game Freak, the studio behind Pokemon, has announced Ame nochi Hare Onna ("Rainy Day, Sunny Girl"), a brand-new anime-style mobile game led by Pokemon series director Ohmori Shigeru.

🎮 The Big Announcement

The casual "laundry game" follows magical girl Hare Onna (real name Harewatari Himawari) and her companion Kumorin as they "bring brightness and cheerfulness to all of Japan." The game launches free on iOS and Android in Japan this winter with in-app purchases, and pre-registration is open now.

🌦️ How Real Weather Changes Everything

The twist: the game uses real weather data from partner Weathernews to affect "every aspect of the game," including Hare Onna's powers. Producer Ohmori told Famitsu the idea was born from a daily habit: "If you're going to check the weather forecast every day to do laundry, why not make a game that uses the weather forecast? It's a game that will make your daily life more fun and cheerful." Players will battle "yamikumo," little monsters themed around trash, junk food and mess, using a card-based system, and go on "patrol" based on real weather forecasts across Japan.
