The New Orleans Saints walked into M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday and STOLE one from the Baltimore Ravens — 24-17 — and Tyler Shough was the hero of the whole thing.
Shough went 27-of-34 for 252 yards and a touchdown — a 21-yarder to Chris Olave (86 receiving yards on the day) — and then, with 1:28 left and the game on the line on 4th-and-goal, he kept it himself and snuck it in from a yard out. The play was reviewed and upheld. Game-winner.
The fourth quarter belonged to New Orleans completely. Down 17-9, the Saints first tied it at 17-17 when a Ravens penalty moved the two-point try to the 1-yard line and Travis Etienne Jr. ran it in. Baltimore got outscored 14-0 in the fourth — and outgained 137-43.
Then came the dagger. With 13 seconds left, Julian Blackmon picked off Lamar Jackson at the Saints 37 to seal it. Jackson finished 21-of-31 for 235 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT with 34 rushing yards. Derrick Henry ran 16 times for 68 yards and a score; Rashod Bateman caught 7 for 88 and a touchdown.
The Saints were 8-of-15 on third down and a perfect 2-of-2 on fourth down — and this is now two straight comeback weeks after the OT loss to the Lions in Week 1. New Orleans is 1-1. Baltimore is 1-1 under coach Jesse Minter.
