Anime food lovers, this one's for you. A brand-new TV anime, "Shin Oishinbo," was announced on September 19, 2026, during Shin-Ei Animation's 50th anniversary stage at the ABEMA Anime Festival 2026.
The announcement marks the return of one of anime's most legendary food series. Based on the gourmet manga by Tetsu Kariya and Akira Hanasaki โ serialized since 1983 โ the original Oishinbo anime aired from 1988 to 1992, also produced by Shin-Ei. It's the series that basically invented the food-anime genre.
An ultra-teaser PV was released alongside the announcement. No premiere date, cast, or staff details have been revealed yet.
