• 💰 $40,105,000 in compensatory damages — more than $8 million for past medical expenses, physical pain and mental anguish, physical impairment, loss of earning capacity, and disfigurement, plus $32 million for future damages in those same categories
• ⚖️ $10 million in exemplary damages (Texas' version of punitive damages), after the judge found Mayweather knowingly committed aggravated assault with a deadly weapon involving an "extreme degree of risk"
The judge also ordered Mayweather to turn over documentation covering all bank accounts, contractual obligations, revenue streams, and additional earnings to satisfy the judgment. 💰
🔪 WHAT HAPPENED IN 2020
April 3, 2020. Yaya — 19 years old at the time — showed up at NBA YoungBoy's home in Cypress, Texas, and found Jacobs there. Jacobs is YoungBoy's other baby mama. Mayweather reportedly identified herself as the rapper's fiancée and told Jacobs to leave. The verbal back-and-forth moved into the kitchen, where Mayweather grabbed two knives 🔪 and stabbed Jacobs twice in the arm and bicep.
Jacobs was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and underwent surgery. In the civil case, she alleged severe and permanent harm — including permanent loss of function in her arm. 👀
⚖️ THE CRIMINAL CASE WAS ALREADY OVER
This didn't start as a lawsuit. Mayweather was arrested the night of the stabbing 🔪 and later pleaded guilty in April 2022 to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, receiving six years of probation. ⚖️ The criminal case closed — but Jacobs' civil case kept going.
