Jury selection is slated to begin Monday, September 14, in the capital murder trial of Markies Conway — better known as Dallas rapper Yella Beezy. He's accused of orchestrating the 2020 broad-daylight killing of rival Dallas rapper Mo3 (Melvin Noble Jr.) on Interstate 35.

Conway has pleaded not guilty and denies any involvement.

The trial gets underway as his defense team petitions the court for a delay — the judge is expected to rule on that request before jury selection begins.

🔫 THE TRIGGER MAN IS ALREADY CONVICTED

Here's what makes this trial so heavy: Kewon White, the man prosecutors say pulled the trigger on Mo3, was found guilty of capital murder earlier this month.

That conviction looms over everything. If the state already proved the hit happened, the only question left for Beezy's jury is who ordered it.

A third defendant, Devin Brown, is also charged with capital murder — prosecutors say he was in the car with White and was caught on surveillance video walking up to Mo3's car wearing a ski mask.
